Moreover, it is said to lower triglycerides and curb inflammation. So, which type of fish should you be tucking into this evening? The answer is salmon. Heart rhythm disorders

A heart arrhythmia is an irregular heartbeat where the electrical signals that coordinate the heartbeat don’t work, the Mayo Clinic explained.

If the faulty electrical signalling causes the heart to beat too fast, it is known as tachycardia; if the muscle beats too slow, it’s called bradycardia.

Described to feel like a “fluttering” or “racing heart”, there are sub-categories of tachycardia and bradycardia.

High blood pressure is associated with an increased risk of stroke and heart attacks – two life-threatening conditions.

The ideal blood pressure to aim for is between 90/60mmHg to 120/80mmHg, according to the NHS.

Health risks associated with high blood pressure are vast, ranging from kidney disease to heart disease.

Thus, anything you can do to keep your reading in check is welcomed in order to extend longevity.


As for triglycerides, these are a type of blood fat, the cholesterol charity Heart UK pointed out.

While a small amount of triglycerides are crucial for energy supplies and essential for good health, too much of the blood fat is bad news.

Heart UK explained: “If you have too much in your blood, this can raise the risk of heart disease.”

High triglycerides are known to contribute to diseases of the heart and blood vessels, and extremely high levels can lead to pancreatitis.
