Genetics also unfortunately play a big role in your likelihood of developing dark bags. These four at home remedies will have you glowing in next to no time.

Iron

1 in 5 women and 1 in 2 pregnant women aren’t getting enough iron. Iron helps produce haemoglobin and red blood cells delivering oxygen around the body. To boost your intake stock up on leafy greens, seafood and beans especially around your special time of the month.

Vitamin C

Helps boost blood circulation and collagen production in the body. Eat foods high in Vitamin C daily such as strawberries, tomatoes, broccoli and cabbage.

Tea Bags

It’s ironic that tea bags help remove your under eye bags but caffeinated tea contains tannins and is also a diuretic a powerful combo that helps shrink your blood vessels. At home soak two bags in warm water then chill them in the fridge for a couple of minutes. Place one tea bag on each eye for 5 mins!

Exercise

Stress causes the fragile capillaries around your eyes to break, resulting in a pooling of unwanted blood under your eyes which becomes oxidised turning into a dark purple hue. Exercise releases happy endorphins which counteracts stress!
