Groupe Pochet Honored at Pratt Institute Art of Packaging Gala

Groupe Pochet was honored Tuesday night at Pratt Institute’s Art of Packaging Gala.The French beauty packaging supplier is known in the industry for its expertise in crafting intricate designs using glass, metal and plastic technologies, many of which are harnessed by luxury fragrance, skin care and makeup brands, from Chanel to La Mer.”We sometimes like to describe ourselves as industrial artists driven by ,” said Irene Gosset, executive board president of Groupe Pochet. “We always strive to push further than what is technically the limit of what is physical.”Organized by the Pratt Institute, the gala supports the Marc Rosen Scholarship and Education Fund for Packaging by Design, which supports Rosen’s package design students at the school. More than $3 million has been raised by the fund to date.Addressing the crowd gathered at Manhattan’s University Club on Tuesday, Rosen, who aside from his teaching duties at Pratt is the chief executive officer of design firm Marc Rosen Associates, said of Groupe Pochet: “Their technologies enable designers to create beautiful and innovative packaging for by developing new techniques and manufacturing methods that give them the tools for creations. Their innovations will continue to serve as inspiration for our students, who are the designers of tomorrow.”Frances Bronet, who in January became the first woman president of Pratt Institute, said of the 29th annual gala: “This very special event is emblematic of what we most hope for with our greatest supporters…people who love design, who understand that the tactile is intrinsic to how we live in the world and are inspired by a commitment to precision and to the future.”Israeli student Hadar Kfir was awarded the Marc Rosen Scholarship for Packaging by Design. Merit Award recipients include Huei Tai Chen, Hyawon Im, Hyeryun Nam and Pandara Chanyatanavut.
