They might be royalty and arguably the owners of the most famous faces on the planet. But when it comes to being parents, Kate Middleton and Prince William have exactly the same concerns as the rest of us mere mortals.
According to a new report in US Weekly, The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are conscious of limiting four-year-old George and two-year-old Charlotte’s screen time. Which is why they’ve banned their offspring from using any electronic devices during play.
“They’re very much seen as Mummy and Daddy’s toys, not for children,” a source explained.
“As two people who grew up without gadgets for entertainment, William and Kate are firm believers in toys, outdoor play and encouraging an active imagination.”
An insider added that the family often head to the petting zoo on the weekends or take a trip to the adventure playground. George also spends hours riding bikes and Charlotte loves playing Disney princesses.
This is in keeping with the couple’s desire to give their kids a normal childhood – something that William previously emphasised in an interview with British GQ.
“I want to bring up my children in a happy, stable, secure world and that is so important to both of us as parents,” he explained.
“I want George to grow up in a real, living environment. I don’t want him growing up behind palace walls, he has to be out there. The media make it harder, but I will fight for them to have a normal life.”
