Yes, we know the royal wedding was over a month ago but given that the Duchess of Sussex’s bridal look will go down in history, we’re still after all the nitty gritty details.
The royal family is notoriously tight-lipped about their makeup preferences, but rumour has it that Meghan Markle can credit Dior’s newest formula, the Backstage Face & Body Foundation, for dewy complexion on the big day.
“We had a big premiere last week at Windsor, where a gorgeous bride wore this [Dior Backstage Face & Body Foundation],” Peter Philips, creative and image director for Dior Makeup, told E! News backstage at the show. “It’s catwalk-proof, aisle-proof, sidewalk-proof…it’s a very easy-to-wear, easy-to-apply foundation for everyone.”
The 36-year-old was praised for her luminous, natural make up, which kept her stunning freckles on full display.
“She’s very much about keeping her skin as real and natural as possible,” Meghan’s wedding day makeup artist Daniel Martin told Glamour.
“I started by prepping her skin with a clarifying toner, water-based moisturiser and a Korean sunscreen that also acts as a foundation gripper to lock down foundation,” he added. “Then I just balanced and neutralised any discolouration where needed with concealer and foundation. I like to use water-based foundations because it absorbs well into your skin without becoming oily over time.”
The Dior Backstage Face and Body Foundation is part of the brand’s new affordable line of products. It comes in 40 different shades, which are divided between six skin undertones, including cool, cool rosy, neutral, warm, warm olive, and warm peach.
It’s yet to launch in Australia, but it will be available exclusively at Sephora when it does. The best part? It’s retailing at $40 in the US, so we’re likely to get an equally as good bargain when it lands here.
