Oolong tea is a traditional Chinese tea that comes from the same plant that’s used to make green and black tea.
It contains polyphenols, which have been linked to insulin activity.
Scientists have claimed that drinking just three cups of tea each day could lower your chances of developing type 2 diabetes by as much as 40 percent.

“However, research notes that some the benefits are best experienced if you drink your tea without milk.
“Teas such as black tea, green tea and oolong tea contain polyphenols which researchers believe may increase insulin activity.
“Polyphenols are known to have anti-oxidative properties which can help protect against inflammation and carcinogens.

“In other words, the properties in tea can help to prevent type 2 diabetes as well as cancer.”
If you don’t like the taste of oolong tea, there are a number of other types of tea that have similarly beneficial effects.
Chamomile tea, rooibos tea and ginger tea could also protect against high blood sugar, it added.
Drinking tea could also help you to maintain a healthy blood pressure, and lower your chance of cardiovascular disease.
