Low blood pressure is when a person has lower than normal pressure. In a few cases, having low blood pressure can cause problems and is best to speak with a GP about the condition.
Blood Pressure UK said: “Some people have a blood pressure level that is naturally low. That is, there is no specific cause or reason why.
However, some health conditions or medicines can cause you to develop low blood pressure. Usually, having low blood pressure is not a cause for concern.
However, sometimes you blood pressure can drop to a point where you may feel faint or dizzy.”
According to the NHS, low blood pressure happens when a person’s reading dips below 90/60mmHg or less. It does not always cause symptoms, but a person may need treatment if it does.
Causes of low blood pressure could be dehydration – when the body is not getting enough water or nutritional deficiencies.
Other causes could be severe infections, allergic reactions or a fall in the blood volume and could possibly be due to a serious medical disorder.
Natural ways a person can improve their low blood pressure include limiting alcohol intake, drinking more water, eating small meals more often, or wearing compression stockings.
