Pink may have one of the most powerful voices in the world, but the star has revealed that her career was almost hindered thanks to a bad smoking habit which took its toll on her vocal cords.
The 37-year-old opened up about her health journey during a candid chat with KIIS FM’s Kyle And Jackie O Show on August 11, saying: “I almost lost my voice from smoking cigarettes.”
“A very very dear friend of mine – Billy Mann – that I write songs with sat me down one day and said: ‘You have a choice to make, babe,'” Pink added.
Putting on a comically gruff voice, the pop belter went on: “And I was like: ‘It’s really getting that bad is it?”’.
“So I quit and I went from sounding like a Golden Girl to sounding like Alvin and the Chipmunks!” she laughed.
Nowadays the star is the picture of health as she finds time to consistently train in between channeling her energy into her two children and releasing of her seventh studio album Beautiful Trauma.
