There's been yet another hire at Avon Products Inc.
The direct-selling business has hired Vikram Agarwal as senior vice president and chief supply chain officer, effective Feb. 1. Agarwal follows Michael Watson, who the company says is stepping down to purpose other professional opportunities.
Agarwal joins Avon from Unilever, where he spent 30 years in positions across operations and the supply chain. Most recently, he was executive vice president of supply chain for Africa, overseeing a multibillion-dollar regional business across 15 countries, 14 factories and 25,000 employees. Before that, he was group vice president of global home care supply chain.
"We are delighted to welcome Vikram to the Avon team and look forward to the expertise and insights he brings from having overseen large, complex supply chains of consumer goods organizations," said Jan Zijderveld, Avon chief executive officer, in a statement. "Vikram's experience in emerging and fast-changing markets as well as in transformational agendas make him well suited to lead a revitalized supply chain team in continuing to drive improvements in service quality and representative satisfaction as well as ensuring that our global operational structure is operating as efficiently and effectively as possible."
Since Zijderveld took his position earlier this year, there have been a slew of executive shifts at Avon. Earlier this month, the business appointed Gustavo Arnal, a former Walgreens Boots executive, to be chief operating officer.
