PARIS — Marie Duhart has been named the official makeup artist of Lancôme France. She succeeds Miky Lagadec in the position.Paris-born Duhart said: “My link with makeup came from my passion for cinema and theater, and very clearly also from drawing, which I have done since childhood. I was involved in theater very early on, and that allowed me to discover a universe and artistic milieu that attracted me immediately.”That’s how she was first exposed to the world of makeup.“Over the years I oscillated between drawing and painting — that’s how I could acquire a mastery of colors and materials,” she continued. “My attraction to makeup is also very certainly linked to a profound attachment to femininity and its image.”Duhart worked for some years closely with makeup artist Stéphane Marais, and has done projects regularly with the photographer Paolo Roversi, fashion director Nicoletta Santoro and model Natalia Vodianova.Duhart has also worked with the likes of Peter Lindbergh, Jean-Baptiste Mondino and Ward Ivan Rafik, plus publications and brands such as Vogue, Numéro, Hermès, Chaumet and Chanel.Isabella Rossellini, Gemma Arterton, Julia Restoin Roitfeld, Charlotte Rampling and Léa Seydoux are among those who have been made up by Duhart, as well.Lisa Eldridge is the makeup creative director for Lancôme, which is a L’Oréal-owned brand.
